Emma V. Blair

Founder & Executive Director

Emma Blair is the Founder and Executive Director of the Veterinary Neuroinclusion Initiative, an organization committed to building a more inclusive, supportive, and accessible veterinary profession for neurodivergent individuals.

As a neurodivergent veterinary professional herself, Emma has personally experienced the challenges of navigating the veterinary field and at times considered leaving the profession altogether. It was through this experience that she came to realize, "I can create positive change and help others like me."

With hands-on experience as a veterinary technician, along with a background in animal welfare and community outreach, Emma brings a grounded understanding of the pressures within high-intensity veterinary environments. She is dedicated to advancing awareness, education, and practical resources that support veterinary professionals, students, and workplaces in embracing neurodiversity and different ways of thinking and working.

The story

Why this work matters.

Emma's work is rooted in the belief that the compassion extended to animal patients must also extend to the people caring for them. Through the Veterinary Neuroinclusion Initiative, she is creating a space where neurodivergent veterinary professionals and students feel valued, supported, and understood.

Through the Veterinary Neuroinclusion Initiative, Emma aims to bridge the gap between neurodivergent professionals and the veterinary community by promoting education, mentorship, workplace inclusion, and systemic change.

As Founder & Executive Director, Emma leads organizational vision and strategy, develops partnerships and community initiatives, creates educational resources and advocacy programs, and represents the organization's mission within the veterinary community.
